You Need To Know The Possible Hair Loss Causes

Hair loss causes range from simple to complex. Some of the simple causes of hair loss include recovery from major surgery. Such invasive medical treatments cause trauma to the hair follicles and large clumps of hair often come out when you are grooming your hair. Your doctor will advise you that this is normal and your hair growth will return to normal, but it could take 3 or 4 months. Since you know it is only temporary, these hair loss causes should not be a major cause for alarm.

Other hair loss causes from medical treatments include the effects of chemotherapy and the side effects of many antibiotics. The fact that you will lose your hair with many of these drugs is common knowledge and once the regimen of treatment is finished, your hair will start to grow back. Thinning hair causes, for people who are not taking medications, can include a lack or the proper nutrients, lack of sleep and not taking proper care of your hair.

Hormones are also thinning hair causes as well. An underactive or overactive thyroid gland can cause hair loss, but once again these hair loss causes respond well to the proper medication. If your male or female hormones become unbalanced, this can also lead to thinning hair or loss of hair. Once you contact your doctor to find out what is happening and you start a regular hormone treatment, you will start to regain your full head of hair. Having a baby is also one of the leading hair loss causes for women, especially if the birth process was traumatic. Pregnancy causes changes in the body's hormones and once they return to normal following birth, the hair growth process returns to normal as well.

Some of the medicines that have been identified as thinning hair causes include:
· Blood thinners for heart disease

· Medication for gout

· Too much Vitamin A

· Anti-depressants

· Birth control pills

Infections, especially in children, are also possible hair loss causes. Many children get fungal infections of the scalp and they cause the hair to start thinning and falling out. The doctor can prescribe anti-fungal medications to help clear up the infection and prevent further hair thinning and loss. Diabetes and lupus are also diseases that cause hair loss. Since hair loss is often a warning sign of a disease, it is important to contact your doctor to find out the reason and what you can do to keep it under control. People look at their hair as their most important asset and should do everything they can to protect it.

Hair loss causes can be many and varied. If you are suffering then you need to find out the cause of your hair loss before you consider doing anything else.

How Dead Sea Salts Can Help Your Hair Loss

Hair loss is a common occurrence in daily life. The average person looses up to 100 hairs per day. This number increases due to heredity, stress, trauma, scalp infection, certain diseases, high fever, the use of certain medications, chemical therapies like those used to treat cancer, thyroid problems, hormonal imbalances and various other reasons. The compound called dihydrotestosterone (dht) can have an adverse effect on the growth receptors in the hair follicle; it causes the blood vessels in the papilla to shrink which restricts food and oxygen to the matrix that produces hair protein. Dht also blocks certain receptors in the sebaceous gland producing a heavy sebum that later hardens in the follicle to for a hard deposit restricting the hair and causing it to fall out prematurely. This cycle will repeat itself until the follicle itself atrophies. This result in the term we refer to as baldness.

How do you cure hair loss? Well there are hundreds of companies with products stating they can reverse hair loss. They even claim that they can make hair grow. You have all seen the commercials where the balding man is not only the spokesperson but a client as well. Men and women spend hundreds of dollars to fight premature balding only to find that the product they are using is not for them. So why not go back to the basics and take your scalp back to its natural state, before the hair gels, creams, serums, sprays and other byproducts we use everyday to make ourselves look good. We have to think about detoxing our scalp. How do you do this? The same way you detox the rest of your body, you rid yourself of the unhealthy cells that clog your pores and hair follicles.

Dead Sea products have been proven to improve ailments such as eczema, acne, and other skin diseases. Dead Sea mud has proven to cleanse the scalp, resulting in improving the hair follicles ability to allow hair growth as well as strengthening hair roots.

Mud masks made with Dead Sea mud have also proved to be very helpful when applied to a scalp for hair roots strengthening. These masks help to stop hair loss and enhance new growth. They proved to be 4 times more effective than any other product of the kind during comparative tests with many other popular cosmetic brands. Another very powerful effect of using Dead Sea mud is the fact that as it dries, it pulls out any toxins that may be present in your skin cells from your everyday diet. This leaves the skin completely clean, refreshed and pure on top of infusing it with the minerals. At the same time, it firms your skin and tightens it, giving you an exceptional anti aging benefit and leaving your skin looking younger. Because of this dual effect of exfoliating, cleansing and providing essential minerals, Dead Sea mud is able to help with so many various ailments or to simply keep you skin looking young and healthy for a long time!

Stress can cause hair loss

Stress occurs at many levels out of which two we experience everyday and they are: primary stress, which is the type that affects you directly and the secondary stress that is usually caused from a third party at a subconscious level. The primary type of stress can occur from anything that affects you directly such as, financial difficulties, marital problems, too much workload or a medical condition.

Secondary stress can occur when you hear about someone's misfortune, for example, when watching news, a violent movie and/or witness an accident to name a few instances. Both types of stress can have severe side effects out of which one is hair loss.

Common Side Effects Of Stress

Some common side effects of stress are: insomnia, change in appetite, which will cause one to either eat too much or too less, irritability and mood swings with depression, which usually weakens your body' immune system. Hair loss is caused due to weak immune system that is unable to provide the nourishment required by the hair to stay strong and healthy and thus, stress and hair loss are directly connected.

Hair maintenance also takes a back seat when one is stressed especially if you have long hair that requires considerable amount of time invested in washing, blow drying and styling and poor maintenance always takes a toll on the growth of your hair.

Noticing The Stress Related Hair Loss Connection

Hair loss due to stress can occur as late as three months after you have suffered a particular stressful period therefore it may not be easy to connect the stress and hair loss occurrence but you may want to ensure when you go through a stressful period that you provide the same and sometimes extra care to your hair in order to maintain your locks.

If you are experiencing hair loss all of a sudden think back and consider what you have encountered that may have affected you enough to change your lifestyle and/or eating habits that may in turn have affected your hair.

Dealing With Stress And Hair Loss

It is not always possible to relieve stress or to avoid stress even though that is the best solutions therefore, you need to ensure that you take your daily requirements of vitamins for hair loss and by either eating a balanced diet or taking vitamin supplements. If you are going through a rough period where you can identify that you are stressed try taking targeted drugs for your hair and nails in order to ensure that they stay healthy. Stress and hair loss have always been connected and while you cannot always avoid or stay stress free you can take extra steps to ensure that your hair is being nourished and protected.

The ways to prevent hair loss can be the same as the ways to prevent stress, take a look at our Stress And Hair Loss article to find out ways to prevent hair loss and stress. You maybe suprised at how simple it actually is.

Do Supplements and Vitamins For Women's Hair Loss Cause More Hair Loss?

Flabby arms, wrinkles and age spots are just a few worries, women also think about there hair thinning or losing it completely. Your hair defines your personal style, so who wants to go bald and lose that? Hair loss has been affecting about 40% of women. A womens self esteem can suffer greatly from this and so can there relationships, jobs and social life's but then again, there are remedies with vitamins for women's hair loss can't fix. Let's take a look if they really can?

Supplements like vitamins for women's hair loss during menopause when the problem is more likely to occur have been largely used as treatment for hair loss in women suffering from this horrible scenario, and for those who would like to keep there hair healthy and alive.. But some people claim it can do more damage than provide treatment for hair loss in women. What is the truth?

Vitamin A helps to keep the hair healthy and alive by aiding the scalp in producing oil or sebum, making it one of the best vitamins recommended for hair loss. Sebum is an a major factor of the scalp, but taking more than 25,000 IU a day of Vitamin A causes to much production of this oil , which accumulates and clogs up the hair bulb, causing it to shrink.

When the bulb shrinks, the hair can fall out if not rooted well in the scalp. The next strands of hair growing out of the bulb will also be a lot weaker and thinner, this can cause the bulb to die and the hair will never grow again.

One of the vitamins recommended for hair loss and also has a added benefit for healthier skin is Vitamin E. When taken along with Vitamin C, this can really help in the circulation of blood to the scalp, preventing clogged hair bulbs and providing all the supplements the hair needs to grow properly.

About 400 IU is the recommended daily dosage. If you take more than the recommended dosage can cause your blood pressure to elevate and reduce your blood's ability to clot properly and should be avoided by people with high blood pressure.

Aside from vitamins for women's hair loss, there are also minerals that are essential, yet very dangerous in larger doses. Iron is thought of as a must have mineral for most woman. Women who suffer from lack of iron also find themselves thinning out their tresses. Iron is beneficial for the production of blood cells that aid in keeping your hair healthy preventing the scalp from drying out and having your hair fallout. Taking more than 15mg of copper a day is not recommended which can lead to liver damage.

As one of the vitamins for women's hair loss during menopause, copper can help you from losing your hair. Copper is also a key factor in hair color and body. But again, like those other vitamins for women's hair loss, taking in more than the prescribed recommendation by doctors can cause health issues and cause you to lose more hair because copper can dry the hair, which leads them to break and drop off.

Supplements and vitamins for women's hair loss can have a affect on your hair but only if you take more than the recommended dosage. As long as you don't go crazy, there is no problem with taking vitamins as a supplement as long as you do not over do it since they are very affective in preventing hair loss

Reversing Hair Loss in Women

For women that are experiencing thinning hair, looking in the mirror can bring about absolute panic and fear. The same reflection that used to be such a treat to envision immediately becomes our own worst enemy.

Women who have experienced thinning hair often share stories of trying to get ready in the morning without looking at their hair at all, choosing to pile it up in a bun in an attempt to hide the thin areas.

Throughout history women have associated their sense of self worth and physical beauty with the quality of their hair so it just makes sense that these feelings of panic and fear should come up when dealing with hair loss.

Hair loss in women can be caused by several different factors including stress, overall health, nutrition and a genetic history of female pattern baldness. For most of us thinning hair feels like the end of the world but thanks to advances in medicine reversing thinning hair has become easier than ever imagined.

How To Reverse Hair Loss In Women

A woman's scalp hair loss is directly related to the health of her hair follicles. If follicles are not healthy and strong they 'go to sleep' and cannot re grow hair after old hair falls out. By repairing and restoring those follicles to working order you can once again experience normal hair growth.

Hair loss for a woman is one of the worst things imaginable but there is still time to save your lovely locks!

Battling Hair Loss With Aloe Vera

Fighting hair loss can be a costly battle and an all-out war. If ever you find yourself fighting for your crowning glory, you better be armed with information about the enemy. Hair loss is oftentimes a genetic condition, especially for men (androgenetic alopecia). Or if you have a change in diet, or you are not getting enough vitamins and minerals, then you need to switch to a healthier lifestyle and start munching on fruits, vegetables and raw nuts. Hair loss can also be brought about by medication (especially if you are undergoing chemotherapy), if you stop taking birth control pills, or if you are taking some kind of antibiotic.

At times it can be stress-induced, and it is a matter of mastering yourself and handling stress better. Hair loss can also happen to women who have just given birth, in which case you need to give time for your hormones to stabilize, and again taking in vitamins and minerals will help. Moreover, when you have damaged or dry hair, its tendency is to produce static which leads to flyaway hair and brittleness, causing hair to fall out faster when you try to brush or detangle it.

A good weapon to fight hair loss no matter what its cause is aloe vera. Aloe vera is a medicinal plant used by Native Americans, Indians, and Asians to care for their skin and hair. The aloe leaves are excellent detoxifying agents, which cleans your hair and encourages it to grow healthier. Try massaging aloe vera gel on your scalp and hair every night. It will heal your scalp, cleanse its pores and balance its pH level. You can also try mixing aloe vera gel with wheat germ oil and coconut milk and use the concoction as a daily shampoo.

Fighting the hair loss war need not be costly; treat your hair with aloe vera, and see the difference.

Gastric Bypass Causes Hair Loss: Can It Be Avoided?

Surprisingly, hair loss is one of the reasons female pre-operative patients sit on the fence before deciding to have gastric bypass surgery. Obese people, particularly obese women, often have lush gorgeous hair. Of course they do - it's well fed and nourished! How many of us have been described as the woman with "beautiful hair and a pretty face"? What person in their right mind would give up one of their beautiful features?

Hair loss usually occurs in the fourth of fifth month following weight loss surgery. During the phase of rapid weight loss, caloric intake is marginal. This puts the body in a state of panic called starvation. Think about the pictures of prisoners of war. Most victims of this atrocity are without hair because they are literally starving to death. A healthy body normally sheds ten percent of hair follicles at any given time. When a body is starving roughly thirty to forty percent of hair follicles are sacrificed as the body channels nutrition to more vital areas. During this phase hair loss is dramatic, often patients find clumps of hair on the shower floor. Remaining hair becomes drab and lifeless.

I knew hair loss was a potential result of weight loss surgery, but because I'm a "cup-half-full" person, I didn't believe that hair loss would happen to me! That just happens to other people, I told myself! Imagine my surprise when my blonde locks were littering the bathroom floor like hair saloon. I shed some tears over dass

Hair loss is a temporary effect of gastric bypass surgery to stabilize and resolve, if the diet and weight. When my hair began to fall, took my husband who is a proponent of vitamin supplements for life a vitamin specifically formulated for building strong healthy hair. The vitamin I take for healthy hair and nails is Silica Complex by Puritan PrideÒ. It contains calcium, magnesium, zinc, boron, betaine and horsetail extract. Consumptionthis supplement almost immediately retarded my hair loss and renewed my dull lifeless hair. I will continue taking this supplement throughout my life. Three years after surgery my hair is long, full and lustrous - one would never know I had suffered significant hair loss. In hindsight, I would certainly begin taking this supplement prior to my surgery. In the very least I would begin taking it soon after surgery before the signs of hair loss were apparent.

3 New Ways to Stop Your Hairloss

In this article I want to show you 3 new ways that you can use to easily stop your hairloss. Whilst some of the information herein may seem 'different' to common advice about stopping hairloss, it is backed up by the latest scientific research. And whilst a lot of research is funded by the pharmaceutical industry to help it gain greater profits, the research that led to this information was pure science.

DHT is the exact hormone that causes hairloss. Reducing DHT will stop your hairloss, but with all the information about DHT pointing to testosterone as the cause, it's little wonder that people go on suffering from excess DHT, and continued hairloss. In fact DHT is not caused by testosterone. It's caused by excess estrogen, and a little something called Estrogen Dominance.

Now there are 3 ways to stop Estrogen Dominance and DHT.

1. Pollution in the environment is a major cause of estrogen production in the body. Unless you migrate out of the city and into the green countryside, then you need to improve you body's ability to neutralize the pollution before it causes the production of estrogen.

To do this you need to detox your liver. There are many liver cleanser products available, and I advise you to avail yourself of these and do a liver cleanse on a regualr basis.

2. Food these days has a lot of chemicals that cause the production of estrogen. Again a liver detox will help to neutralize these, but a much better way is to avoid chemicals in food by eating organic. This is something you can do starting today at little extra cost to your current food budget, and beleive me when I say it really is worth the extra pennies.

3. DHT resides in the scalp and needs to be removed asap. Unless this is done the DHT will continue to cause hairloss, even if you are no longer producing any new DHT by following steps 1 and 2.

There are literally hundreds of overpriced DHT removers on the market, costing $50 or more per month, and whilst these do the job, there are other cheaper options, so shop around.

Natural Hair Loss Remedies

Fact: There is no sure-fire way to prevent all hair loss. However, some methods that have been used work on some people. Here are some suggestions for natural remedies to hair loss. Massage Massaging the scalp in general for a couple of minutes a day can stimulate blood flow to the hair follicles and in mild cases stimulate some hair growth in minor cases of temporary hair loss. There are several electric massagers on the market that have an attachment for scalp massaging as well. An oriental method called Qi Gong (pronounced Chi Kung) has been used to increase circulation to the scalp and face also. Aromatherapy A blend of six drops each of lavender and bay essential oils in a base of four ounces of either almond, soybean or sesame oil massaged into the scalp and allowed to sit for 20 minutes has been used by aroma therapists to stimulate the scalp. Saw Palmetto Extract There is a definite connection between the prostate and hair loss for men. Saw Palmetto has been found to work in fighting benign prostatic disease by lowering levels of DHT, which is a known cause of androgenetic alopecia. Saw Palmetto extract is an effective anti-androgen and shows promise as an effective treatment for hair loss prevention. More information on Saw Palmetto for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Women on oral contraceptives or hormone therapy should not take Saw Palmetto. Nettle Root Extract Nettles are rich in vitamins A and C, several key minerals and lipids that can be beneficial to the hair. Nettle Root Extract has been used successfully in Europe as an inhibitor of 5-alpha reductase in treating BPH. Rosemary and Sage Rosemary and sage are two herbs that have shown benefit traditionally when used externally. Boil together in water rosemary, sage, peach leaf, nettle and burdock. Then strain the loose herbs from the liquid and use the liquid to wash the hair daily. Jojoba Oil If you are predisposed to seborrhea, eczema, psoriasis, or dandruff, you could consider using jojoba oil. Mexicans and southwestern Native American nations have used jojoba oil traditionally for centuries to promote hair growth and the control of dandruff. Jojoba oil is great for hypoallergenic skin because it is a great moisturizer and mimics the scalp's own sebum. Aloe Vera Aloe Vera has been used by Native Americans, Indians and many in the Caribbean to promote healthy hair and prevent hair loss. Aloe's can help the scalp by healing it and balancing the pH level of the scalp while cleansing the pores. A common preparation of Aloe Vera gel with a small amount of wheat germ oil and coconut milk is used as a shampoo and has traditionally shown great benefit. Henna Henna is a traditional Indian herb that acts as a natural conditioner and is excellent for the maintenance of healthy hair. It can help heal the hair shaft by repairing and sealing the cuticle, protecting hair against breakage and loss of shine. Polysorbate-80 Polysorbate-80 is an FDA approved surfactant that is also approved as a food additive. Although not proven, Polysorbate-80 is said to remove deposits of DHT and cholesterol from the scalp. Polysorbate-80 is being recommended by some naturopathic practitioners as an application for the scalp approximately 15 minutes prior to shampooing. Cleansing and Detoxification Cleansing should be a major part of your regimen to maintain and grow hair. Many scalp related diseases are directly the result of toxemia, while toxins in the body adversely affecting the body's systems indirectly affect other conditions. Cleansing can be performed through oral means regularly and occasionally by enema or colonic irrigation. More remedies for detoxification Psyllium husk Fiber is vital to cleansing, and most North American diets are deficient in natural fiber. Psyllium husk is a bulking laxative agent that can be used to safely move waste through the colon. Psyllium is a very good substance as it gently scrubs the walls of the colon to remove waste that is stuck to the walls.

Exercise Finally, although exercise does absolutely nothing directly to grow hair, most holistic practitioners recommend it. Exercising can improve blood flow, the delivery of oxygen to the cells of the body, and help the digestion of foods, all things that aid the health of hair follicles. The Hairloss Cure At Last

People have been trying to solve their hairloss problem for thousands of years, and for many young and middle aged adults it is the bane of their existence. Everyday looking at the mirror and wishing to god that they had more or thicker hair on their head. Well hair isn't just going to stop falling out unless you do something about it. But what can be done?

Well, there are some basics you can do right now to stop the hairloss! Firstly, you need to get your basic nutrition in. This is essential, as nutritional deficiencies have been scientifically proven to cause hairloss, and if the deficiency is severe, total hairloss can occur in weeks.

To solve this problem is simple. Firstly, eat more nutritious food like vegetables and whole foods. Cut back on junk foods and nutritionally depleted foods like ready meals. Next, take a quality supplement like barley grass everyday. This give you a nutritional boost that is far superior than taking a supermarket brand multivitamin pill, which your body essentially rejects, and you end up flushing down the toilet...

The next stage is to solve your hormonal problem. DHT is well known to cause hairloss, and it is excess estrogens that cause the production of DHT. As one gets older their estrogen levels rise, which is why hairloss occurs more frequently at an older age. Also did you know that males in their fifties have more estrogen in their bodies than females of the same age? Amazing but true!

The hormonal problem isn't one that can be solved overnight, but it is doable, simple reduce your estrogen 'intake', which you get from your environment and food.

The last stage of reducing and eliminating hairloss is to attend to the scalp. Here there will be a huge amount of DHT. You need an effective topical to clean this away. On the scalp will be dormant hair follicles waiting to be reactivated once the DHT levels are very low. Reactivate these and you will notice your hairloss becomes much reduced, and you can actually experience regrowth and a much thicker head of hair.

The Problems With Diabetes And Hair Loss

The connection between diabetes and hair loss was established long ago.

Diabetes is a hormone related disorder that often leads to hair loss or thinning of the hair.

Frequent loss of hair is often considered one of the early symptoms of diabetes, which requires prompt treatment in order to avoid further complications. The growth of hair is affected by diabetes, which gradually leads to thinning of hair.

Stress is directly related to diabetes and hair loss, as the disease causes excessive anxiety, which in turn becomes the prime cause of hair loss.

Diabetes Leads To Hair Loss:

Diabetes occurs when it becomes difficult for the body to metabolize carbohydrates properly. Diabetics are highly sensitive to skin ailments, as their blood circulation and blood sugar levels are impaired.

Bruises and small wounds often take a relatively long time to heal; therefore, the recovery rate is comparatively slower and obstructs the re-growth of hair.

This causes visible hair reduction, as diabetics cannot maintain the normal cycle of re-growth process. Bacterial and fungal infections on the scalp because of diabetes could also result in hair loss, thereby making diabetes and hair loss inter-related.

Normally, a healthy person would lose around fifty to hundred strands of hair every day. Therefore, if hair loss increases rapidly, you could require medical assistance, since untreated diabetes can escalate hair loss further.

The process:

Diabetes often leads to diffused hair growth that could be a result of medical stress or side effects of certain prescribed medicines to diabetics. It usually depends on the individual's body, as each person responds differently to specific medications. The stress caused by chronic diabetes reduces the growth of hair.

After a period of seven to eight months, hair follicles undergo a resting period and are gradually replaced with the growth of new hair. The replaced strands push the old hair to the surface of the scalp, and the hair falls out, this is known as telogen effluvium.

An autoimmune problem:

The other cause of hair loss due to diabetes is an autoimmune problem, which leads to one or more small bald patches developing on the scalp. This ailment is called alopecia areata.

Other additional autoimmune problems like a dysfunctional thyroid gland, the skin rash vitiligo, pernicious anemia, or Type 1 diabetes, often accompanies it.

Generally, Type 2 diabetes occurs when a hormonal imbalance causes polycystic ovary syndrome. Both the conditions are related to insulin resistance, which refers to the reduced ability of cells in the body to react to insulin.

Early detection and monitoring:

Diabetes often remains undetected because the symptoms at the early stage are not considered significant.

This is a major problem because early detection could slow down its harmful effects. Some of the symptoms of diabetes could be blurred vision, frequent urination, acute hunger, increased thirst, unusual weight loss, fatigue and unnecessary irritation.

Early detection of any of these symptoms, and early treatment could help in early recovery from both diabetes as well as excessive hair loss.

Careful monitoring of blood sugar levels provides relevant information that helps maintain control, which would consequently delay the development of various long-term complications.

Some of these long-term complications of diabetes could be the damage of blood vessels and nerves, loss of functioning of the kidneys, loss of sensation, heart disease and strokes.

Hair loss normally begins at the onset of diabetes and gradually becomes worse after the disease takes charge of the body.

It is very important to get the hair loss symptom diagnosed, to know the root cause of hair fall.

You need to seek a qualified doctor's advice, so that you can avoid further problems, and to desist from using hair lotions and conditioners, which will not help to solve the problem.
